Nursery Information

Preschool Room and 2 Year Old Room

We are fortunate to offer both a Preschool Nursery, for children aged 3 and 4, and a 2 Year-old room. The Nursery is an integral part of the school and shares the same ethos and values as the rest of the school.

Please contact the school office if you are considering applying for a nursery place.

Owls Room (Preschool)

We have a 26 place preschool room that offers daily sessions during school term-time. Children are eligible to join the Nursery in the term following their 3rd birthday (September, January or April).

All children (aged 3) are entitled to 15 hours of funding through the Early Years Entitlement Grant.

From September 2017, an additional 15 hours of free childcare is available for families where both parents are working (or the sole parent is working in a lone-parent family) and each parent earns the equivalent of 16 hours a week at the national living wage and earns less thean £100,000 a year.

Parents must confirm their eligibility via the HMRC online checker:

LEARNING

The Nursery team work together to plan a curriculum that meets the changing developmental needs of all children. The activities on offer are designed to build on your child's previous experiences, reflect their interests and extend their learning and development.

We provide a safe and nurturing environment, resources and experiences to stimulate your child's curiosity and creative play.

The Nursery timetable is designed to provide an understandable and regular routine which supports the children's learning. It provides a mix of large group activities (story-time, circle-time, discussions), small group activities (snack-time and staff-led explorations) and individual activites. It provides a balance of both staff-planned and child-initiated activities and a large amount of outdoor learning, including Forest School.
